Yeah New Vegas for me. I think it has to do with the generous draw distance. Relatively few enemies have the perception to figure out where your shots are coming from so you really do get to feel like The White Death himself. Not remotely balanced but very fun.

Felt like a no-brainer in (what I played of) Jagged Alliance 3. Just run a sniper-squad with Barry Unger's explosive extravaganza for crowds and dug-in positions. There probably comes a point where they're outpaced by battle rifles and such, but my experience was that whoever had a non-automatic rifle dictated any encounter.

Baldur’s Gate 2
(improved invis + 3 skull traps in a sequencer, late game chain contingency + 3 horrid wilting)

First time I played new vegas I ended up in cottonwood blasting legion guys with the varmint rifle I had managed to upgrade with a scope early at night from up on that parking lot hill. Spent like 2 hours fucking around with that, so much fun. It felt surprisingly natural given that the bullet physics (as I understand them) are a hacky reimplementation of arrows complete with fall off.Fallout 4 is pretty fun to snipe in until the scaling ruins it.
