That's kind of my point. FFT gives you so many crazy powerful generics that your entire party is cooked by Chapter 4, especially given that dying is fucking hard in FFT so you likely are not losing people. Tactic Ogre gives you so many more unique characters, but none of them are substantially better than a character you can make yourself and dead of generics is a lot more likely in TO because castle archer splat + permadeath.

it's not like you have to drop someone to make room for him, the game gives you an extra deployment slot in later battles I used: melee (punch ninja) ramza, melee generic, magic (summoner) generic, magic generic, then added agrias, then added cid

I always make my Ramza a monk with equip heavy armor and I have never had trouble with any of the duels or bosses.

The rarity of these game is allowing you to customize your generic units so much. You can change even the name and sprite. Why would I ever use the units made by the game when I can create my own?

Growths matter in the old system because you wanted to get into the good classes faster, not miss summons/status magic and unlock increased spell aoe at earlier levels.People will tell you not to raise too many classes at the same time in PSP because you're "losing stats" but no one is ever going to raise so many classes at once that it actually becomes noticeable and by that point, you'd already have super gear. Its just less tedious to focus on the obviously good classes instead because of the dumb exp formula. I know One Vision took it out but that's its own kettle of fish.Agi/Avo are useless in Reborn unless you have like +300 or some retarded number on the enemy so who cares. Str/Dex? Its like 4 points for autisming over Berserker vs Swordmaster or some shit. You get more than enough charms just from playing, especially when some dungeons require multiple visits. Reborn is riddled with a ton of weird damage quirks that also muddy the water as well.If you care about minmaxing then yeah, the other guy made some valid points but as far as clearing the majority of the content goes, just keep the martials in martial classes and the casters in caster classes (like the old days). It really doesnt matter that much.

yeah it's pretty lame how ez mode he makes the game, but you don't have to use him. I never do. All the unique characters is probably one of the worst aspects of the game (as cool as it may be). You spend a lot of time playing with your party and then they give you all these new characters with unique abilities. Ruins the balance of the game.

I replayed this for the first time in 20 years a while back. On PSP, because I don't think I have it on Playstation/2 anymore. I think I threw the disc across the room then gave it to my friend after getting softlocked. Why the hell does it take so long to level up jobs in the PSP version? You have to grind like a maniac to get anything. Also why does no one ever talk about the awful final act? They stop making maps with interesting or challenging scenarios and plop a bunch of enemies and a boss on a small map, with the battle determined in like 2 turns.

I got dumped by my girlfriend who came over by surprise after I spent 30 minutes putting in GameShark codes for FFT to play my pet party and I was visibly irritated and she left and dumped me over the phone that night.
