Wanted to discuss this game. Really loved it, also really liked their previous game but this one about a post-apocalyptic society on a derelict space ship meant to colonize an alien planet hooked me like nothing else. Are there any other games with similar vibes to this?
Also that reveal that the ship was really close to the planet before the mutiny was a huge sucker punch. They were so close, also brings into question whether the mutiny was maliciously planned, as a means of control before landing down on the planet.

I don't think anything really has the same vibes as Iron Tower games but I feel like Wasteland 2 and 3 get slept on because people have some sort of hateboner for inXile online.

Yeah it's a great game sadly as far as CRPG go there is nothing quite like it, the replayability it offer and the branching path is something 99% of new CRPG just skip.

I also liked this game a lot. Some anons say that the three factions felt too similar with each other, but I thought that that was the point. They weren't the original mutineers and crew and are far descendants of the original crew. A lot of meaning has been lost, and these factions are less about their fights and more about whose in power. At least that's how it is for me.
Love the diving sections, and the solo builds I've seen are cool

AoD and Dungeon Rats are on sale right now, just know that you should NOT skimp on defensive skills in Dungeon Rats if you buy it or you will get destroyed in encounters

I just find it funny how the narration ignores your competence levels semi-frequently in the early areas just to make a point about you being a "nobody".
Like it doesn't matter you have 5 (out of 10) in Critical Strike and 10 Dexterity, when you stab a random ganger it'll still call your strike "so clumsy any real fighter would avoid it no problem". Even though that same score is enough to pull some silent assassin shit a zone later.
Don't take me wrong, I know they're not going to write variable responses for every single check in the game to account for you being way over the target but it can come off as really silly.

Busting out "Trust me, I know what I'm doing" every time I walk into a death trap with nothing but a smile and a lifetime supply of bullshit will never get old. Whoever's idea it was to have that be the smooth talker run catchphrase had it right.
Although it's funny that while in AoD going full social you avoided combat like the plague (until maybe later with consumable spam) but here the existence of followers means that I'm having a way easier time steamrolling everything than even on my combat monster. Turns out having four turns per round instead of two or three makes a world of difference, whoda fuckin thunk it.
