zestiria & arise are slightly worse than berseria but i dislike all three for similar reasons
legendia & symphonia 2 are arguably worse but they have enough classic tales charm to make them more palatable to me
tempest is the actual obvious worst

bros I started playing tales of symphonia after xillia and it's incredible how better of a game it is even if it's like 10 years older
>more enemy variety
>much better location design
>despite being restricted to a 2D plane the combat is still engaging
>arguably a better story
what went wrong with this series and why is the quality dropping and not increasing over time? what are other tiles worth checking out?

Ignoring mobile games and radiant mythology etc. Looking for the 3 major themes of the series - i.e. Racism is bad, Environmentalism, and War is Bad (not that these are the only themes present)
