I can't tell if this game is charming in its simplicity or an uninteresting slog of a game. how does /vrpg/ feel about the cosmic fantasy series? I played 2 back on the turbo CD when I was in high school and enjoyed it well enough.

Yeah I was a big fan of CF2 as well. Still own it. I recently played 1,3, and 4 on the Switch, was really excited for it to finally be in english....but my god. For some reason they don't feel the same. 1 is way too hard to figure out where to go or what to do, and 3 and 4 just feel super grindy and pointless. Maybe it was different when I was 16 and this shit was new.

I had a decent time with them but they all have flaws
The final game overall the best-playing one
Having actual story continuity across the games is cool
