Reasons it flopped, hard:1. Reliance on outsourcing, a lot of the assets and level designs in the game are made by third-party studios. Result is lack of communication and lack of creativity.2. Poor marketing and shit communication, advertising open world/exploration and then giving people load screen simulator as if its Skyrim in 2011 led to a lot of people being pissed off.3. Engine is shit, animations are shit, character models are low effort, just walk around Atlantis and look at NPCs.4. Insecure and boring storyline that didn't make any sense. We wanted a space game not a fucking ''fetch these 46262 artefacts and then fight some alien dudes and then fuck off story is done'' game.5. Non memorable fights, melee weapons are boring, ballistic weapons are basic, laser weapons are meh, and above all there is a blatant lack of bullet drop physics and impact physics on the NPCs when you attack them. This shows how little work was done actually developing the game.6. Lack of romance options.7. Wasted opportunities, for example NEON was touted as a space vegas full of intrigues and degeneracy and when you get there its just a normal town, a corporation quest line, some shit overpriced housing, lack of side quests or exploration opportunities, and the main night club feels like a snooze fest. Instead of giving us an interesting city to explore we got a rehash of different assets making up NEON and boring quest lines you forget about within 10 minutes. For comparison even Naar Shaddaa in SWTOR was designed better and had more of a degenerate cesspool city vibe than NEON and the game is from 2011.8. DLCs not trying to fix anything, just milking the community even more. Cyberpunk became a master piece through updates and the Phantom Liberty DLC added a lot of things and fixes making the game enjoyable. Bethesda didn't even bother addressing the issues and just tried to milk people one last time before moving on.
