I just picked this game up because I saw there was a DLC for Sakuna and I love the rice goddess loli. Is it any good? I've only played RF4 and I loved it a lot, spent 100+ hours in it.

Yes it’s good so long as you’re not a crafting autist who only plays these games to fulfill your crafting autism. (But if that’s the case you should really be playing something like Atelier over Rune Factory anyways where crafting is actually the focus, RF has always just been an extension of Harvest Moon and is focused on being a life-sim first and foremost), most regular people only play Rune Factory for it’s social and dating sim mechanics, and in that respect it’s as good as any other Rune Factory that’s not 1, 2, or Tides.Also now that our generals have been kicked off of /v but Rune Factory is finally back, /rfhm/ general revival WHEN?!

5/10 game at best.Has fuckall to do with Rune Factory so if that's why you bought it, might as well refund it.Combat is garbage. Farming barely exists. Crafting doesn't exist except through predetermined menus. Story sucks.About the only thing half decent about this game is the village building if you care about that but even that is limited and not that great.I have no idea why anyone talked about this game at all. There are way better games to spend your time on.

Started RF5 last night, played 4 some years back and liked it. 5 is...kinda weird? Can't say I remember everything from 4, but menuing in 5 feels kinda bad. Also I'm far from a graphicsfag, but the game looks like an uni student's project, they should've either taken their time or stuck to the old style. The furniture placement system is also pretty ass and triggering my autism. The rest is decently enjoyable so far at least, though I haven't gotten very far. I put 100 hours into Azuma, but I never really ended up liking how the game looked with the whole full proportioned bodies everyone had.I've just finished Witchspring R, and I feel like the game's aesthetic is a lot closer to what I'm looking for in a "modern"/"has-some-semblance-of-an-actual-budget" RF game. And mind you, Witchspring isn't even nowhere near what most people would call a game with a budget.

Picked up 5 a few weeks ago and I'm honestly enjoying it, beat the main story and the maze, doing festivals and more "life-sim" stuff now. It's definitely a game on a budget and worse than 4, and there's something wrong that I can complain about with just about every system, but I still find it fun and relaxing, and the characters are likeable. Probably gonna go back and make a save that I can branch into every other girl's route when I truly see everything there is to see on this one.

Done with the first year in 5, I have to say that by far my biggest issue with the game is that the postgame is very barren, Rigbarth Maze can be easily cleared with random gear, and then you're left with nothing to use all the much more overpowered gear on. I'm just doing festivals I missed, town events that were cucked by romance events taking precedence, waiting for children, and hunting for new villager lines, or I guess in short enjoying the life sim part at this point, which while pretty fun, is not entirely enough.

I didn't play original (if I remember correctly it was later DS game, I only played OG HM DS and ToTT) and I would like to know what should I prepare for, in other words how much similiar the game is to OG DS one, as it's the one I played the most (in the starting days of DS emulation when game was running on 30-40% speed, God fucking amn it it was ages ago). How is the new game? I've played every entry in the series save RF2 (and I haven't played much of Frontiers), and I really didn't jive with RF5. It just seemed like they'd forgotten everything about making a good 3D RF game in terms of gameplay and looks, and were really phoning it in with the writing, design choices and other things that shouldn't even have been different with the change in perspective. Is the new one a marked improvement over RF5 or just the first step in the right direction?
Just by skimming the thread people seem rather happy with it, but you lot can seem rather easy to please due to the only modes of anon seeming to be screaming retard or mild positivity.
