I'm not an RPGmaker expert, but I heard this game was very unoptimized. Something I noticed while messing around with the code is that for the purposes of upgrading Moonless's bite attack, the game checks how many times Moonless has marked her territory every 40 frames since it is a parallel common event. I think it will be more efficient if instead of doing this, the common event is called up only after there is an incident of Moonless marking her territory. I dunno if it will make much of a difference but hopefully it will help a little.

Small quality of life modification.When using a consumable on yourself you can normally use it on yourself as many times as you want as long as you have more of the item in your inventory. Consuming the ale is an example of this. However, some items will instead exit out of the menu when you consume them which is annoying if you want to consume multiple items. Consuming the blue vial is an example of this. This is due to these items having common events being associated with them, when a common event is running it automatically closes the menu. Himeworks created a plugin that revolves this called Scene Interpreter...BUT...it doesn't work for RPGMaker MV which is what Fear and Hunger was made in.HOWEVER I did find a workaround where anytime you use an item that exits the menu it automatically brings up the item menu which cuts down on the tedium a little. Consuming the egg uses this new work around. This will hopefully make feeding and healing your party a little less tedious.

A couple of month ago I just randomly saw a video on my feed that was showcasing like some characters and enemies or a boss battle or something and it had an extremely similar art painterly artstyle to funger and I think it was rpgmaker too.

Who do you think is gonna be the "canon" protagonist of the second game? Same way it's generally accepted that Cahara's the main dude in F&H1 what with Enki and Ragnvaldr achieving their S Endings and D'arce either going for S, B or a mix of both. For Termina, it's funny how Levi is presented as the Cahara equivalent what with him being the default selection, first character to be created for the demo, on the cover, so on and so forth yet he's so utterly irrelevant in the narrative of a game that has double the playable characters than its prequel. Meanwhile, narratively, fucking Olivia of all people is the most connected with the game's primary ending.

Btw everyone i was able to get the C ending, unfortunately our outlander friend had to die (he tried to warn us all) but the indomitable company composed of d'Arce,Cahara and the girl was able to stop Le'garde evil plan.
Now d'Arce is trying to find a new purpose in life while Cahara found the crown and was able to rest with his wife and TWO children (you can guess what the girl's destiny was with his new non-godly, non-power hungry parents).

Finally finished with the revamped intro. Added a small quality of life feature where you can now return to the main menu from the character select screen. It kind of feels like the intro might be a little more wordy or longer compared to the other heroes' intros, but I can always trim it down and revise it later I guess. For now it gets the job done. Next will be tweaking the "last gasp" ability of certain enemies to continue fighting until the end of the round even when their HP has reached zero to make it more evident that it's an intentional mechanic and making it so headshots nullifies this mechanic for certain enemies.The webm is too long to post here so I put it on /wsg/

Next is dealing with an issue with this map. This is the backalley in Mahabre. When I go there my FPS slows to an absolute crawl, does anyone else have this problem? I did some tinkering and I found out its due to all the tiles circled in red. These create a shadow effect to depict the shadows made by the buildings in the map. But each tile is its own separate event which apparently eats up a lot of resources.An easy solution would be to simply get rid of the shadow tiles buuuuuuuuuut I feel like that would be diminishing the game. I want the mod to build upon the game by adding things to it, not taking them away (unless it's a bug of course.) A previous attempt to fix it I had was to make the shadows invisible when they're offscreen, but it didn't work. It seems to be the event themselves that cause the slowdown rather than the presense of shadows. An idea I had was to try to simply make larger shadow sprites so less of them need to be used to complete the effect. Fewer events eating up resources = less FPS slowdown? Or maybe I can get rid of the slowdown altogether this way, since the map ran just fine when I got rid of the shadow tiles.

Working on making a version of Pocketcat dialogue for the girl. She can still trade the demon kid to him, but some of Pocketcat's wares are useless for the girl. Ancient Book and Book of Enlightenment are fine, but she can't equip the claymore and the Book of Forgotten Memories will not do anything when she reads it.Some substitutions I considered:

Finished up with Pocketcat. Things happen roughly the same with him, but he will offer to take you out of the dungeons. If you accept it is just a quick game over, similar to offering yourself to the Lady of Moon. Now that I am done with Pocketcat, the last thing I have left to implement before the update is ready is an illiteracy mechanic. Miro had entertained the idea of making it so Cahara could not read and needed a friendly party member to read whatever books and scrolls and such he found. He ultimately never did this, but I thought it was interesting and wanted to give the girl this mechanic. The human party members will be the ones who can read to you (Nas'hrah is too much of a dick to help you) and they'll make a little comment on whatever you're reading for variety's sake. So in the video, the girl will get this recipe book, but will not learn the actual recipes until Cahara reads it to her.

Not really enjoying Termina as much as i enjoyed the first game tbfh. Feels alot more like RNG dependent than the first one and the loot is 80% shit most of the time. Also it somehow feels easier yet more obnoxious than the first one? I cant really explain it but there's an abundant ammount of enemies in certain parts of the map where its really easy to get yourself stuck when trying to juke them, not to mention the ammount of areas that just feel utterly pointless to explore or solely exist for you to recruit a party member.
Also, fuck these guys, literally add nothing of value to the game.

Finished with illiteracy. While I was adding it, I tweaked it so certain recipes will give you a glass vial as a byproduct of whatever you're making. For example blue vial + blue vial = light blue vial AND empty vial.Added some recipes where you can craft rotten meatpies, rotten vegetable pies, and rotten blueberry pies out of the rotten versions of the ingredients used to make the other pies. For example, a meatpie needs and egg, dried meat, and wheat flour to be made so a rotten meatpie needs rotten egg, rotten meat, and wheat flour instead. Also included "half-rotten" versions of the pies that can be made with one fresh ingredient and one rotten ingredient put together.I'm just waiting for an artist to give me a sprite sheet for a girl version of one of the game overs and I'll start up playtesting and then drop the update.

Added an edited version of the index.html file which enables several inactive mods in the download. The effects of these mods are as follows.
Changes limit of silver coins you can carry from 99 to 9999.
Prevent "TypeError: Cannot read property 'scope' of null" errors from happening in battle.
Pauses certain time based processes (hunger increasing, sanity decreasing, countdown to Le'garde dying, etc) while you have a dialogue box open. Yes, my mod will overwrite many files of the frapollo bugfix mod. To compensate for this, I simply fixed all bugs that Frap's mod fixed (that I know of) and added a bunch of bugfixes of my own. New update for Girl Marriage Mod is out. The main thing this game adds is the ability to play as the girl in the dating sim mode of the game called Dungeon Nights, as well as pick her as a partner to take to the prom. Fixed various bugs for this mode, namely bugs that made a few potential partners impossible to be romanced.The last thing I need to do before the mod is complete is to think of an S-ending for the girl to get in hard mode.

Just finished this game... can't say I liked it... there was enough intrigue to keep me going but I feel like my time was thoroughly wasted in retrospect. After browsing the wiki I think it's admirable how much ridiculously obscure stuff is in the game, but ultimately I don't see much point in replaying it.I do like how internally consistent the gane was, but I can't say I fancied the constant popculture references and the awful save system. The ending was also very abrupt and unsatisfying. Not much closure.

I've been wanting to make a survival horror RPG Maker game for a while but I didn't want the normal unchanged battle system. Unfortunately I can't come up with anything unique that won't be a huge pain in the ass to implement into RPG Maker. So I decided that just ripping off F&H's body part system would be the best thing although I still want to add some twists to it. Is there anything about the combat you wish was different or thought could be improved? (Beyond the obvious of it not being RPGM slop combat)
