Anime is way bigger than wuxia in china, like ~800bil rmb vs ~100-150bil rmb annual revenue. I think Ananta will be fine if the devs don't fuck shit up drastically. It also has the advantage of building fanbases for each of the playable characters while WWM is all about the MC (some fan favorites have already been killed off, not that they'd ever be playable so w.e). Who knows, maybe they'll do some roblox style UGC shit that genshin is trying to do right now.

Is easy. People like to free roam in GTA single and multiplayer mode just doing random shit, and they can keep playing for hours just doing "nothing". If Ananta somehow nails this aspect, then it's a guaranteed success. If not, then they will have to rely on the usual patch schedule of content releases, so no different from a gacha.

Lots of more stuff has been showing up of Codename Cedar thanks to the Chinese OBT. This is my favorite design so far. Also, I find it hilarious that the devs refer to the players as comrades but it works since it's a uses a cold war-ish setting and is fully voiced in Russian. I guess that means Cedar players will be affectionately calling each other comrades.

heartopia cbt is live and it's fun there's an entire pre-built city, with some plots on the corners of the map that are occupied by whatever players join the server it isn't top-down like animal crossing (or petit planet), it feels like an actual town pretty much everything seems interactable, swings, musical instruments, vehicles, etc i think you can also hold hands with other players but i haven't figured out how to do that yet

so far in petit planet - no gacha yet, will likely be introduced later when the game launches, everything can be purchased with f2p currency for now - each villager is distinct unlike animal crossing's personalities, they have their own likes and dislikes - terraforming is significantly faster than animal crossing new horizons instead of manually editing every tile game looks ok, but just like i feared, this one really doesn't have much charm the catch quotes are bland and lacking entirely in puns, the dialogue doesn't seem any better either i guess we'll see if it improves or becomes just another clone that people will forget when the next animal crossing title releases

ngl petit planet looks incredibly boring, but maybe that's just because there aren't too many people talking about it despite sorting by latest on twitter or youtube the most i've seen is that it does a few things better than animal crossing new horizons, but doesn't have the same vibe as animal crossing no witty puns, no amusing dialogue the only gripe i have with new horizons right now is that it has shallow multiplayer, but once that gets fixed it might become the best animal crossing to date (there's still some hope since they are still updating the game) heartopia on the other hand is a lot better than i expected

played heartopia for 5 days, and i can say it's the best upcoming lifesim so far - no tedious island terraforming crap, the island is already pre-built with iconic landmarks everywhere, and has 4 plots for players on three sides of the town (so upto 12 players can be loaded into a session at a time) - multiplayer content is much better than animal crossing, players can interact with other players and join events/parties/etc without any loading times at all - hobbies are extensive and reward progression, each level unlocks something new to discover (there are seven hobbies for now: gardening, cooking, fishing, bug catching, bird watching, cat care, dog care) - tool durability is far less tedious, you can easily gather materials required for upgrade kits which can then be set up anywhere to repair tools (and is also an aoe, so multiple players can repair their tools with a single repair kit - lifesim and multiplayer are satisfying, there are multiple items that can be bought and used for creating minigames (portals, roll dice, etc), plus the chinese version has had several events since release

AP looks like it's getting released soon, probably at the end of year, since they had another beta recently, but somehow they are totally quiet about global version, the beta was only for CN/KR/JP. Ananta may as well be a vaporware at this point.
