The reason era was fun was cause we were teenagers, we had no money to buy gil, and cause interacting with people from all around the world was crazy as fuck. Also the endgame has insane levels of drama due to the hnm claim system.Private servers trying to replicate this are just a bunch of geriatrics larping in easy mode, the HNM scene is totally neutered on all private servers and it's just a bunch of old guys and roasties who ain't got time for it and buying hundreds of dollars of gil a month from the server owners on rmt sites

Should i play ffxi or stick to FFXIV? i really like that you don't change gear midfight in ffxiv and the ilevel and currency system for getting the best gear, also the tank, healer and dps roles are more clear in ffxiv while in ffxi you only have 2 healers and 2 tanks.
