I want a certain Ultima Online fork considered for the voting pool if it sounds interesting enough.
>over 10 years, a single autist turned UO into a game that could be played beginning to end solo, polished a private server's custom map with callbacks to all the Ultima games, and released Ruins & Riches
>then two more teams of autists forked that one after the other and worked on it for 2 or 3 more years each
>Ultima: Memento is the latest fork in that chainCompared to UO:
>Production skills are semi-automated - you can craft to a set amount, and gathering repeats itself until a node expires
>Production skills are also free to gain and don't count towards your cap
>PvP is off by default
>Champ spawns (wave battles) are in one area and initially easier, but scalable to be even crazier than the original
>there are a number of hidden "classes" that give you a new set of spells, scaling off of 3-4 skills for damage and rewarding you for specializing
>a ridiculous amount of secrets to find and atmosphere to experience
>a new roguelite mode where you start with a very low skill cap and can grow between deaths, but permanently lose gear and trained skills when you do dieWe'd have three options for a server
>Official
>Probably the most active present community(though, still low), but can be assumed to have their discord chat's conduct rules ingame (I've never actually poked them on this to be honest)>Existing /vm/ server
>no roguelike update (or really not much work lately at all, host is playing everquest), but you can say nigger
>has multiple custom parameters, including a cap on the ability to eschew materials on spells and a karma requirement for non-humans to be considered allowed to live. might have pvp on but i haven't checked>Self host
>this is an open source game, you can just spool a shard up yourself
>roguelike is technically in the files but not officially released. it might take some work to turn on, but that could be a possibility
