unless i'm missing something the cost to get all the shit now is $230 per year, $140 eso+ & $90 for premium battlepasses per year (1 freebie battlepass per 12 month period)some of the stuff they're announcing sounds pretty good if they can stick the landing (personally pretty interested in the night market stuff), but it's undeniable that this game is consistently one of the most expensive mmos, which is a hard sell compared to it's competitors and to most video games in general.

Glad they're working on base game stuff instead of churning out a new zone. I would rather new zones be spaced longer apart, but they work on more updates to everything else in between. Dragonknight changes seem cool and I'm looking forward to the rest, and hope some sort of buff to pure classes shows up. I personally think subclassing was a disaster in both mechanics and flavor, so it's nice they are actually making changes, whether that takes the form of pure class buffs or some sort of additional restriction on subclassing we have yet to see.All in all, seems like good stuff. I'm happy.I didn't quite follow the part about eso+. I tend to subscribe on and off often throughout the year since I like supporting the game, it seems like zones and stories will all be free moving forward, and subscribing mostly just gets you various small gameplay things and extra rewards like the battlepass. I'm not a huge fan of battlepasses on principle, but they're doing the more relaxed version where it lasts 3+ months, if you buy it then you have no time limit at all, and it's just weekly missions of things you're doing anyway to complete it rather than specific things, so that's the way to do it if you are going to do a battlepass at least. In general, this seems ok relative to most battle passes. Replacing login rewards and event tickets is certainly a nice part of it that everyone will like, at the least.Good stuff.

So we went from full chapters featuring entire new zones, with actual effort put into them and new assets. They're a D team that barely knows their own game and only lucked into keeping their jobs because they weren't good enough for Firor's doomed pet project, these updates likely won't be good enough or fast enough to maintain players much less gain them.I'd love to be wrong, but I'm expecting EOS or actual maintenance mode within 2 years.

Honestly I don't have many complaints about 2026. This game needs a lot of work to bring it closer to modern standards (it was outdated when it launched lol). We've all seen people say they got filtered by the floaty and piss easy combat within an hour of starting the game. Those things NEED to be fixed if ESO is to have any hope of lasting another 20 years. That and crossplay/progression. Lots of console players jumped ship to PC and dropped the game because they don't want to start over.
I wouldn't mind ZOS taking off multiple years from making new story/zones to focus on those things. In the meantime they can make easy money selling Naryu/Darien/Raz/etc companions and houseguests in battlepasses (they do that in Fallout 76)

They are absolutely doing the right thing taking a season off from making a new world space to instead focus on fundamentals. They're upgrading animations, combat feel, class identity, and they even said they're addressing the multiclassing fiasco. Literally every single thing they said regarding base gameplay is good and I'm more than happy to take a season off from new zones for them to shore up areas of the game that need some love. Absolutely correct for them to do.I'm not keen on "battle passes" but they're doing it the way where there's a free track and you have unlimited time to complete it if you buy it, which are two check marks for doing them the right way if you're doing them at all, so at least there's that. And judging by some of the comments I'm reading here and on twitch/etc, I think people also forget that they're a business that needs to make money. If they don't post profits, Zenimax shuts them down. It won't be fast, but it'll happen. So I'm happy to buy a battlepass or subscribe here and there throughout the year to support the game. It's actually really nice that ESO goes on sale for like 5 bucks regularly and it's really nice that all future story content will be free, so how exactly do you expect them make money otherwise? Everything they said is completely reasonable, and free2play players do not seem like they're getting shafted, the opposite in fact. They want tons of free to ply players trying the game and trying the new zones etc, because every free to play player is a potential customer in the future.I've been playing this game for over a decade and I'm so glad to have a season where the devs can focus on fundamentals instead of churning out a new zone. Best news in years. I feel like the negativity around this is honestly by people who don't understand the reason for it. It's a good thing.

Hmm, it's a shame all of these specify druid healing spell, I was going to combine the templar healing class with the druid healing class to make a super healer but they seem to intentionally prevent that. Which is odd, because some of the dps classes are happily mixing into a soup class of all the various crit and damage passives from multiple classes. Oh well.I think I'll also make some kind of super tank with some stuff from the draconic classes and the templar classes, or perhaps the frost tank from druid combined with some of the tank passives from dragonknight or something.The one thing I did try already is the bear ultimate from druid combined with the deadra summoning pets from sorc, to make a super pet class, but it was kind of not really that great.At the end of the day, I'm honestly looking forward to whatever changes they're planning to the subclassing system, and bringing my main character here back to just being a templar healer with pure templar stuff. Hopefully pure classes get some kind of buff or new exclusive ability or something. It's a neat idea but I honestly think it's fair to say it was a disaster, both mechanically since everyone is just playing crit fishing soup classes now, and flavor wise since everyone is a schizo mix of themes.

just a tipif you don't have banker/merchant you can just teleport into imperial city and use their merchants/banks then use the sewer door to exit and it will teleport you back to where you were
this is also handy for teleporting yourself out of delves/public dungeonsu can also rp that you live in the sewer since it has most of the amenities:)
