World of Warcraft, the price for entry keeps the roleplayers invested. But because it's the most popular you are going to have very destructive personalities and BPD individuals. Easy to get into, hard to find what you want.In second place is Lord of the Rings Online. Less popular, lots of jank, but still being updated to this day. The single downside is that if you don't enjoy Lord of the Rings there is next to nothing for you.

Definitely not ESO or FFXIV unless you want to develop a crippling gambling addiction that keeps you playing because the game is dead and garbage (ESO) or if you don't mind playing a FF game first and MMORPG 3rd
