Anon, did you know that the perceived "roughness" (the feeling of consonance or dissonance) of music chords and intervals is a function of interaction of harmonics between these chords? You can even calculate, mathematically, music intervals that sound most and least consonant, and different timbres can sound consonant or dissonant with the same chords or intervals because of their different harmonic map. I did some experiments and figured out that Paul Ehrlich theory predicts perceived consonance and dissonance in harmonic series with almost 100% accuracy.
