Im finally done, Overall I liked the game (obviously I wouldn't have spend this long with it if I didnt) Unsurprisingly the difficulty on hard is pretty lacking. The game seems to have a pretty "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" balance. What I mean by that is theres just a lot of stuff in the game and a lot of it is just obviously completely useless if you think about it for 5 seconds (weird low % trigger skills, heavy accessories with overly niche/specific abilities, anti crit items in the game where there's like 1 map near the end where you can reasonably expect to see enemy crits, etc.) that give me the impression that they have no idea what's actually good in this game and just threw stuff into the game willy nilly without considering it's actual use. I think part of the reason why the game is so easy is because they balanced it around the player not being able to tell how much stuff is completely useless. I think there's a lot of maps that seem interesting on paper but you don't get much out of it because the difficulty is so low. I wasn't super into the story, I like how it has a more mythological feel than most FEs and I think its their best iteration of "Evil dragon starts the zombie apocalypse" Fire Emblem but honestly I'm just not a big fan of that format. In a lot of ways it feels like Engage but with an edgier veneer. You have a higher focus on your "traditional jrpg party" main cast, you've got the whole demon dragon + zombie apocalypse thing like mentioned before, you have Lind who's a shitty jobber villain who the game expects you to take seriously after you already kicked his ass 3 times like the 4 hounds, protagonist is a revived light dragon messiah, etc. There's also just a lot of shit they didn't do anything with. Obviously a lot of it was gutted for dlc but like what about the guardians of the compass? I don't think theyre gonna come up in the dlc routes I think theyre just nothingburger characters.

I'm struggling so much on part 2 to keep and feed exp to units who needs it. The reason I get game overs is not because I can't clear the map (I could probably do it with my 4 best units alone) but that the other 10 units are 10 level beneath them and keep dying when an elephant breathes on them. I never had this issue before. Maybe I should just stop deploying every unit I can.
