Just tried out the demos for Toziuha Night: Nosferatu's Curse, Accursed and The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest. All very good shit. Even if Konami isn't making any more Classicvania games (and arguably aren't making anymore Igavania games if Belmont's Curse is any indication), at least the indie scene is still keeping that type of game alive.

Finished Amid Evil save for the DLC, although it was one of the first games from the retro shooter revival thing, it is nowhere near as fun as Dusk. It's not bad either, but it suffers from having 2 really boring episodes. And also from the fact that it's generally far too abstract for my liking. It's not as abstract as something like Quake 1 or DOOM but it gets pretty close at times. You can generally feel what the level is kind of supposed to be. "Oh this is a temple/Oh this is a monastery/Oh this is a tower/Oh this is a village-esque place" but besides that there is not much showing the purpose of any of the places involved. The two weakest are Domain of the Sentinels which genuinely just feel like a mediocre quake level pack and The Sacred Path which although not as abstract, is just really samey in its theme and not in an interesting way. All of the other episodes though are cool. But the game doesn't have much in terms of stuff you can do with it at the end of the day, and the constantly changing enemies really make it hard for you to get used to any of them or for any of them to stand out. It's still a good game. But so far it's the most uninteresting New Blood game. Not bad, because New Blood published games so far were all good, but definitely the least fun. But that might be because the competition is so strong. You could get Ultrakill or Dusk from the same publisher.

I managed to brick my save in two different Metroidvanias this month. In Pharaoh Rebirth+ a boss carried me through the end of level trigger with an attack and that put me back to the level select screen. Because the level was cleared the boss was gone, but because I hadn't beaten the boss I couldn't re-fight him and the next stage hadn't unlocked. In Plus Ultra: Legado I pogo'd off a wall I couldn't break yet through the ceiling of the level and landed on the other side of the wall, and exploring over there put me in a boss fight that immediately set a bunch of story flags and rendered the game unbeatable.I do this to myself but it does keep happening.

Using the mask's power turns you into a catrina. while your followers start dancing when they are idle. Best of all is that there are buffs for your followers if the Festival Mode power is on. and being still in bone tier makes for a very funny looking entourage.

So, Guild Wars 1 introduced a "hero" system years ago, where you can not only equip your own character, but you can also fully equip & create builds for NPC characters in your party. This has been pretty universally loved.What other multiplayer games / MMOs do you guys think would be improved by letting you fully gear and control NPCs as party members?To me the most obvious is Division 2. I would love to do dungeons and raids by myself.

So question for the anon who played Subteranean; mines of titan, I have a question; where the fuck is the B03 mine storage keycard? I heavily suspect the reactor relay is there, but I seem to have explored the whole floor and I cant find any new paths where the keycard would be. I tried exploring further and even reached b04 and b05 but didnt find anything.The only theoretical path I can think of is that there is a secret hole somewhere that I can dive down into that allow me to the separated section of the first farm layer, but I cant seem to find anything, my character pass a comment when in the storage room just before the market but I cant figure out what exactly im supposed to interact with, and its annoying me because every trek down there require a long ass detour from b02 downward.

You know, I kinda really *really* like how Helldivers II handles. It's probably the best "feeling" tps out there. The weapons feel nice and beefy, I like that crosshair + circle that indicates where the barrel of your gun is actually pointing combo, so when you take something like a heavy machine gun, and and you swish your mouse around, you can see where your character is actually aiming, and it gives "weight" to your weapons. Kinda makes me wish there were decent single player games that played more similar to HD2.
