And finally, Pythium decided to come out of the hall of shame and brought in a huge army. Huge communion, lots of thunder - enough to melt away all the dogs before his own infantry got in range of the hydra poison cloud, even if just by a hair.First point for Pythium!

Are there ever learner games or disciple ones? I'm trying to learn just against AI but I'm struggling to handle them easily. It feels like a lot of wars just go nowhere. Any recommended nations to learn with? I like Abysia's theming but the blood magic stuff seems too tricky for me to balance right away. I played with the fire giants a bit and liked them but don't understand how to transition from the earlier game where you can roll people with big giants to later when the massive swarms of little dudes overwhelm them. I tried MA Marignon too and liked them but felt I just couldn't make any progress. Their units were good but I just can't make enough to keep up with what the AI was spitting out.

Four routed once their army broke, but they were surrounded by giants and got stuck in a small pocket. There they resisted, side by side. The last one went full Feanor and kept swinging a shadow brand for another 30 rounds of combat, until a king of deeper earth got to him. Almost killed it too, it'd just have taken one more good attack, but in the end the monster prevailed. Still, so many giants fled the battlefield during that time that their army got significantly weakened, and C'tis could bet them with a surgical strike of foul vapors and skellyspammingePoint for C'tis!

It seemed successful at first, and all of Xibalba's mages routed except for one, but then the lich got stuck summoning skeletons. The Illfather tanked them while the one mage blasted them away, and soon after the Illfather could step ahead and bonk the lich away.Point for Xibalba!

Things could have ended a lot sooner with the barrage of evocations that Tienchi threw at the C'tissian mages, but pretty much all of it landed right next to the targets without causing any damage. Except for that one great shot that landed right on top of the fae knights. Next came Nidavangr with a barbarian horde and the entire weather cast. Tienchi's strongly weakened frontline and now much reduced mage corp couldn't hold them back. The pretender and the two golems charged right in and I can't understand how it says each got barely a handful of kills, because the pretender was in the middle of the horde hitting left and right. Maybe she was busy hitting nithabeds with a bucket of lives instead of anyone who would count. The golems themselves got busy against the air elemental spam. But ultimately, air elementals got everyone. Of Tienchi's proud horde, only a handful of mages and draconians made it out of the battle. Finally Nazca attacked again, but it looks like he might have forgotten to send in the pretender. The militia got thunderstriked and elementaled away by the third combat round.Point for Nidavangr!

With only 4 points left to be awarded before the final prize of 5, things are looking desperate for our contenders. Tienchi is probably completely out of the race at this point, and Nidavangr with 4 points would only aspire to 13 even after winning every battle from here on, which would still result in an Ermor victory with 14 points. The only alternative is that Uruk wins the final battle and at least 2 of the other 4 points. Only that'd tie with Ermor and keep the arena going on sudden death mode, assuming that Ermor doesn't get more points until then. It seems that in the future... everyone gets boned

Yo, I just wish MA Bandar had better recruitable national mages. I thought I had Scleria on the ropes with a year 1 war, but Scleria some how managed to get palisades around their cap circle and turned the tables on me. I just wish Scleria's divine reanimators were cap only or 2-turn instead of any fort+lab.

Man map movement being calculated purely from the current position is kinda whack. 22mm flying pretender, want it to come out of the water and move through 2 forest provinces. This is apparently impossible because you can't fly in water, the game doesn't calculate that you can fly over the forests, so instead of it being 17mm total, it's 25mm.

>TURN 46 OF THE ARENA Agartha airdropped a fountain of blood right onto Nidavangr's army. The air elementals managed to destroy the fountain, but not before a meteor storm annihilated half of the army. First time I see that spell in action. Pretty cool, I didn't know it visually changed the battle terrain into craters. And then followed Agartha's army, fortunately not in the normal combat phase, and quickly beat up the rest of Nidavangr. Most of the losses on both sides were due to massive magma bolts and blade wind spam. Tienchi came next in a second desperate attack, but unfortunately the arena wasn't empty. The same evo spam killed most of them in few rounds. Next was C'tis with another foul vapors and stale approach. Agartha's kill numbers tell the story. C'tis couldn't really get much else done, but the foul vapors lasted enough to cause significant damage. Greek dudebro went straight into melee after some buffing, but wasn't ready for 27 damage glaives, and after C'tis everything left is already poison resistant anyways so the malediction didn't help much. Rip that one oracle. Finally, Xibalba used the mage and vampires to fluff the Illfather and summon a screen of skellies to earn it some extra time to buff himself more. Again with +50 regen per round and absurd stats, the Illfather proceeded to solo the rest of the army.

Nidavangr threw in what he has left, but the same barrage of enslaving spells makes half the army kill the other half and Uruk keeps the change. ...and again with the militia from Nazca. Arco's pretender showed up with his best loadout and started spamming buffs, but got hit by a soul slay. Finally, Ermor decided to hit the arena again with a decent army, if small in comparison to what he could be fielding. I didn't see much strategy, though. Not even a foul vapors or anything like that. The lich threw some random evocations (summon sprites early on? Was it even scripted?) but that's it.Despite taking heavy losses, Uruk manages to hold on to the arena and secures one of the two points needed to have a chance at tieing on the final turn.
