The time mechanic is good. Every action and quest costs your time. I was fishing in the morning with the family for the very first quest, then the main quest where I flirted with the cute hag witch that makes the medicine to be delivered back home before sundown, which led to doing another quest for a missing person, that took me into a spooky vampire cave filled with lore, a boss fight and some weapons/armor, putting me back into the village again. Which led to another quest to locate a missing church banner before sundown, with a great sense of urgency, otherwise the lady responsible for the banner will be killed by the vampires. You then uncover that the content on the banner was totally evil and repulsive, that it deserved to be torn down. Choose to reason with the thief to get the banner back and save the weavers life, or let it go, condemning the weaver who was only doing her job. All of that adventure before sundown, all in time to finish the main quest without a single hour of time wastedVery satisfying way to make questing feel important and dynamic and incentivize replaying the game to do different quests and in different orders to see the varied outcomes

leon B making 9mm and mag only mistakes were made. i did not use the 9mm rounds as much as i thought because .45 shit mag rounds, while strong, not for everyday situations and kinda a waste. it is a huge pain in the fucking ass to get zombies to line up. even if they are getting into a line there is always one retard that takes a 45 degree turn near the end of the game i have like 500 flamethrower, 3 shotgun, 50ish .45s and like 20 mag rounds fucking adaptive difficulty man, it should not take 7 mag headshots to take a licker downcombining GP A and GP A for 2nd runs is a bad idea

Serious contender for worst boss fight in the entire series. Too little space to maneuver around in compared to Tyrant fights in other games with how fast and relentless he attacks once he's close enough so the best tactic is simply to just not move an inch from your starting position and just unload on him with your fire arrows that you'd better not have used too many of (around 25-26 should do and you only get 30 total on the island) before he gets a single hit in so he only takes a single catapult launch to throw him out of the plane. The first Tyrant fight on the ground was even more braindead and easy than G1/G-Adult in OG RE2 or the giant bat in RE0.

I guess playing it right after RE1 instead of after 3 or Code Veronica lets it shine by comparison, but it does feel like a step up from RE1. It still had that old school clunky, puzzly vibe, but it didn't overstay its welcome and I also liked that the puzzles felt a bit more grounded, for the most part. All those fancy gems and other random crap in RE1 felt too arbitrary. The training facility and library did feel a bit similar to the RE1 mansion in that sense, but they were still a good bunch shorter. I do get either why people complain about the lack of boxes. But I decided from the beginning that I'd just move on and only every go back if I needed something in particular, and aside from two or three things (worst being the fucking hook gun) you pretty much always have everything you need right there or a short distance away. I spent a lot longer in RE1 running around to go pick up and drop stuff. All in all, loved it.I already beat the original RE2 years ago, so I'll go with the remake next.

I'm playing RE2 Remake for the first time. Never played an RE game outside RE4 (original), so I'm a casual. I am really enjoying myself. I am about to turn the power on for the jail cell, which I suspect will be chaotic. I do have some questions if an anon or two wouldn't mind answering: 1. What RE games would you recommend after this? I heard mixed things about RE3 remake so I was thinking of the RE1 remake, RE7, and/or RE9 as those look the most appealing to me. 2. Do you recommend I only fight when an enemy is too persistent and/or blocking my path? I suck at aiming (getting better), so I frequently run low on ammo. I am playing normal difficulty. 3. Do zombies have a limit to no longer being a threat? As in, once a room is cleared they won't come back? I heard about crimson head (?) zombies, so I suspect at some point alot of 'cleared' rooms won't be safe anymore. Not sure if that spoils anything, just wanting to get a feel if its worth getting every optional thing now or save it for later. 4. Are the Mr. Raccoons obvious to spot, or do you really have to look for them? I only found the first one near the flyer near the shooting range. I am a completionist, so I want to get them all. I suspect I missed a lot already.

first game of re2re without adaptive difficulty and i am finally happy. ammo is no longer random, but you can get better at making it! i was making like 20 9mm from two small gunpowders near the end. two big ones was strait up 60 near the end mag ammo was weird it was like +0 ammo for 1 craft, +1 for 2nd, +1 3rd, +2 4th

However the game feels kinda framey even though it's sitting at a solid 30 fps. Like og 3 and 2 did not feel this framey at all. I have a rudimentary understanding of some of the more unorthodox concepts underpinning a lot of their worldview and traditions from reading some passages of the Torah/Talmud (the thing is fucking enormous and I certainly don’t have the attention span to read all of it in any reasonable time frame) as well as a good idea of their history and various ‘genetic quirks’ but I’d like to get a better understanding of the finer details.
