i made my stance perfectly clear, you just don't want to accept that it is objective truth: a horror game must be built around its horror elements to be a horror game. a game can have horror elements but not be a horror game, regardless of what they get tagged as on steam to push more units. the actual content of the game, in fact matters in classifying whether or not something is part of a genre, nigger. continue seething and shitting yourself uncontrollably while plugging your ears by all means, i think its really funny.

Having done my first playthrough on Hard, which also gave me no small amounts of frustration, I would not recommend it to most new players. From what I've seen, most modern players are not mentally equipped to deal with frustration for longer than 5 minutes without having some sort of chimp out.
Especially players who are too stubborn to reduce the difficulty out of some self imposed sense of proud gamer cred, but prefer to keep seething because the game they chose to play on Hard difficulty is turning out to be... hard.
I'm not talking about you but some streamers I've seen, my god... There was this guy who re-started the game 7 hours in because he assumed his "build" just wasn't working. Never mind that he never used a single concentration attack or that he was just trying to dodge everything like it was a Souls game, obviously running out of stamina very quickly every time.
Gamers today sure are a special breed.

I've played all the games over the course of my life but I want to go through all of them in a row and immerse myself completely in my favorite series. But what else should I play? Rev 1 and Rev 2? So does anyone wish they vibed more with Silent Hill f than they did? I didn't expect to beat SH2R and f and like SH2R way more but here we are. It's not even the shitty combat of f that ruins it it's the fact that it doesn't even feel like a Silent Hill, how much of Ebisugaoka is basically a hallway and the Shrine areas are really not great. Also it has the least atmosphere of any game in the series, certainly the least scariest.

The problem with SH has always been that it was tied to Resident Evil. SH folwent off to make their own games and came up with interesting takes on the formula, like Siren. I think the only game that tried something different, even if it failed, was Memories, and that game kind of predates the modern horror game genre. The funny thing about “sticking with the formula” is that the public loves the formula. Outlast outsold the entire SH franchise. There's always some unique take on the horror genre that sells well. Horror games are kind of like the streamer genre. They're the BNB for any streamer who wants to become famous. Since Mirai Nikki, it's been proven that the internet loves horror, no matter what kind it is.

Did you guys see they cancelled the soundtrack release of SHf?? It’s sounds like we might not even get a digital version. What the fuck? Makes zero sense. They would have make bank off of that, regardless of if anyone liked the soundtrack. Akira’s work is the most SH aspect of the whole game and I was really looking forward to hearing some of those tracks isolated. I really don’t know what the reason could be for this. The vinyls should have already been in production by now too.

Are the current gen ports of Fatal Frame MOBW and MOTLE better on Switch or PS4/PS5 or PC control wise? I can only find conflicting information on whether or not the Playstation releases support gyro aiming which I know the Switch versions do but those run at 30 FPS so it's kind of a tradeoff :/

Hey, for silent hill f, should I purify the sacred sword or leave it be for my second playthrough?
I plan on doing runs for every ending but I wonder what a I should do first? I'm leaning towards not purifying it the second run and purifying it for the third, and getting the true end for my fourth, then getting the UFO ending for my fifth ending.

Playing Cronos: The New Dawn right now. The atmosphere and ambience is pretty fucking good, but this combat isn't endearing to me. I'm at my first boss, the tentacle man with the three glowing weakspots, and this encounter with the last three as well, the clunkiness has gotten to me. Your character is way too slow. Obviously I don't want to zip around the map with sonic speed, but a little more pep in their step would go a long way especially with the aiming speed. The stability of aiming is miserable, with the crosshair flying all over the place as you charge and you can't hold the charge either. So once it reaches maximum, it goes off, and you combine that with the enemies moving about, inaccuracy, it makes every shot feel as if it's the result of wrangling the game's controls. I haven't been struggling with items, but actually inventory slots. I made a mistake thinking I should focus on Health, so I got no room for anything and have to juggle the items with a lot of back and forth. Overall, the combat is not fun to me at all.Should I keep going, does it get better or am I being a retard? Maybe these games just aren't for me.
