That would be so fucking positive for that game. Way too few people have played this absolute MASTERPIECE. But its conversations are always clogged up by Ace Attorneyfags who didn't actually play Layton and go on to profess that "It's more Layton than Ace Attorney! Boo!" but that's not true. It follows the "larger" superstructure of a Layton plot, and it has all of the Layton systems, and because the adventure-game portions are slower and therefore longer, and follow the Layton UI while the Courtroom segments follow Ace Attorney UI, it can feel as if the game is "more Layton than Ace Attorney". But it is actually pretty evenly divided, and what matters is that it's the Ace Attorney sections that shine the most. The adventure parts are just there to do exposition on the environments and characters that will later be relevant during trials, and the puzzles have as little story-relevance as they did in Layton. What sucks the most is that I think the game only did the "That reminds me of a puzzle" thing 1 time during a Trial, and it definitely could've been a crossover where you did puzzles in day-time to collect evidence with more story-relevant puzzle topics, and then also solve a puzzle inside a trial in order to prove a piece of evidence. And you could've also had "Present" in the investigate portions to have funny shit as Layton.But as is I think they split it evenly, and it's just Ace Attorneyfags being extremely biased towards their IP. The game is only truly enjoyable if you played neither franchise or if you played both in equal measure. I never beat the final Layton game, the "Azran Legacy" one because the 3DS Laytons were definitely worse than the DS ones. But the first 3 DS ones are worth playing and they're not that long either. If you played those, and the 3 Phoenix Wright games, you're golden, and then this game really starts to feel magical IMO.

well I just finished the 3DS version and hoo boy that's got to be the most retarded Layton twist I've seen thus far (only finished the 4 DS Layton games). It's like they took the twist of the 2nd and third games, mixed them together, and then added extra bullshit on top.
