How did you feel about Metaphor?
I went in not expecting much considering I'm not huge into Persona.
Both the beginning and ending fell flat for me, but the mid point (specifically Virga Island through the Opera House) was pretty strong.
Junah, Fidelio and Louis were also real highlights of the cast which otherwise was a bit dull.

I'm an unironic atlus fanboy so I liked it, as I like pretty much anything atlus shits out. I'd say it's slightly better written than most of the Persona games but also just kind of boring because it's still not exactly fantastic writing and lacking those moments where atlus writing drops off a cliff and you just kinda have to laugh at how dumb it can be made the game feel a bit dull in retrospect, like I can't really remember any standout moments in the story that were especially good or bad.Gameplay was fantastic though and I loved that it was an unabashed love letter to all of their games, Persona, SMT, EO, DDS, etc. For a game that was initially advertised as something kind of beyond what they usually do, maybe something that could have broader appeal, it's funny that it ended up basically made for superfans who will soi out at every reference and borrowed mechanic from previous games they've made.

A game entirely about the King's Challenge (or whatever they called it) would have been cool. Instead it is all just a railroad to tell the story and give you an excuse to go to different places but still.
I would have liked some agency and choice and had to actually worry about my support and stuff.

It was good. I might replay it after finishing SMT IV and Apocalypse
