I've been playing 9kings recently, and while the game is not bad, it's also... not good.
There is too little for you to do during the actual battles, which play out automatically, so it mostly boils down to choosing the right card/perk combos outside of the battle, and getting lucky. Compared with something like Slay the Spire or Desktop Dungeons it just feels less interactive, and gets boring quite quickly. I mostly launch it when an update drops, to unlock the achievements, and then stop playing until the next update.
That being said, the game is still in early access, and the devs are not necessarily going in the wrong direction so far, so I hope it will eventually get more interesting.
