People in general have no idea about cultural differences and how perception changes things.Around 10 years ago as a 20-something fresh graduate I went and lived in Japan for a while. I had this Japanese girlfriend for a while and while we were on a date we had an argument and it became so bad she started shouting at me and hitting me, this was on a Sunday evening in a busy bar/lounge area in Tokyo (not roppongi though)Immediately a group of 10 - 15 japanese people gathered around and defended ME while telling my girlfriend off. This was shocking for both me and my girlfriend, I could see in her eyes she didn't expect this.Last year I went to Japan on holiday with my white fiance since she has never been and I speak the language. We had a disagreement over what to do as I wanted to chill in nature and do some hikes while she wanted to go shopping, I told her to go shopping by herself, good luck talking to clerks about what you want and left. She ran after me screaming while hitting me in a violent outburst. This time almost everyone was on my fiances side.Subconsciously most asians see white women as the highest on the social hierarchy, followed by white men and only then is it asian women. It's funny because that is also how most white women view the world (secretly) Asia has the same perspective as white women on social and racial hierarchy in their minds. How is this related to the thread? To the image it's related because it showcases why no one would ever care for an Asian to speak English perfectly, they are lower on the social ladder. For the written OP topic of visual novels. It's because visual novels are a Japanese medium which is socially inferior to consuming "white" media. Same why no one takes you seriously if you read Japanese or Chinese literature over western literature (even Russian)
