I at least hear the developers out sometimes, usually if they're a small team. I've seen games with genuine effort put into a majority of it but they had to rely on some assets that were AI generated in limited use case. Sometimes when you make something of a certain scale it can be forgiven. I still believe in judging per case basis.

I personally think indie devs are too uppity about whether AI assets matter or not because they don't even make the specific niche of games that I like playing anyway. I do not care about your future that is not making my favourite games. You already failed me. AI couldn't be any worse than your lack of making the games that I like. There is no piece of software in the entire world right now being developed without the use of AI. Telling the LLM to create components and functions for you and then double checking and testing them is infinitely more time efficient, no developer in the world manually writes all of their code anymore. Most text editors and IDEs have LLMs embedded into them that will let you auto complete code portions at the press of a button as the AI can easily tell from context what you were intending to do with your function.

Which it always is now, art boards are using AI generation to match a bunch of assets together to create a more "final look" for beginning concept arts rather than being a mess of cropped pictures overlapped. AI is used in project management.Anti AI fags need to get over yourselves. The cat is out the bag, AI that can make a better picture than your furry OCs faster than you can are on millions of PCs. If a solar flare hit earth for 24 hours straight destroying computers, AI that can make better art than you will still remain.

We don't have regulations for detailing what software was used for the game development on its page. As AI becomes even more commonplace it would be a detriment for them to list this because literally every game is gonna utilise AI.

I unironically dont see the difference between people complaining about this and people complaining about photography or digital painting. Even something like Unity and Unreal already have nodes to make generated textures. People will complain but as time goes on i do think AI will be just too useful, and i dont mean in the meme executive way of replace all programmer and just type "give me game". It can be actually helpful in creating textures and making outlines, in programming its super helpful in making repetitious or common things. One example is i gotten some text file and instead of just cleaning up data i told it to give it to me in a json format and it just did it. Before i would either have to use, regex, write a function or just do it manually. That alone saved me at least 30 minutes. The other day a co worker wanted to find a wood texture for some prototype he was making, wanted to find an open source one, after 20 minutes he just went to chatgpt and said "make me a wood texture" and a minute later there it was a wood texture.
