Psychonauts 2 was such a terrible shitshow internally for the company that it drove away all the old guard besides Tim who mostly does management these days, leaving only the the 30 something's who were on tumblr in their youth and exalt the worse media trends of the 2010s to make games.

i recently watched the psych odyssey documentary series about the development of psychonauts 2--it's all on youtube. it's a pretty great case study of a studio shedding talent and becoming wokeified in real time. i walked away really, really not liking tim schafer and actively hoping for the studio to fail, which seems inevitable at this point
