Because they are raised on shinto and buddhist values which allows for channeling and praying to spirits, which the Bible would literally call demonic/corrupting spirits. Which is normal for them but not for us. And the idea of Jesus as the penultimate mediator for God who does not allow praying to other roaming spirits is a buzzkill for them so when they look to biblical stuff they are attracted instantly to judaism/kabbala (same thing if you study) because they can use the biblical names and Hebrew but continue their fasccination with talking to, praying to, and interacting with demons with the added appeal of western culture on the surface level. For example in the talmud they call the jewish star pentagram "the seal of solomon" and say he used it to tame demons but. Neat story. But in practical reality they just use that to start making new pentagrams for demon channeling. Business as usual to the Japanese!
