Two reasons:
1) WoD was always rooted in counter-culture, but chuds had less sway with the masses back then and so they didn't really try to take the anti-woke angle with VTMB. They instead tolerated that some genres would be inherently "woke" by nature. Now that chuds feel cocky, they don't feel the need to tolerate such things anymore.
2) Paradox is the publisher and chuds hate Paradox despite loving their GSGs
