I hope they add actual school & social elements if and when we get the next game. I can't even describe how disappointed I was when I discovered that the school matters fuck all in the game despite its name being in the fucking title. You don't attend classes, your common room doesn't matter, you don't get to do anything with your house peers, etc etc. You don't even do anything in the school. All it has is a big, empty Ubisoft World™ with so many fucking Goblin encampments you'd think the school was under siege by the Mongolian hordes, and where you can repeat the same microgames over and over.

I bought the first game and got bored of it when I left the school.Unless they make it a proper student sim for the second one, I won't play the second one.They're gonna go the opposite route, though, the map is gonna be even bigger and they'll let you travel to Downtown Alley or whatever that's called. And the Ministry of Magic or some shit. There will be four big ass maps and Hogwarts will go from 8% of the total map of the game to 0.5%

They better make the castle seem huge. I mean massive. I was pretty happy with the scale of the castle in the first one because this was an entirely new approach to the series and they did make it genuinely beautiful top to bottom despite the render issues. It never felt big though. It's kids in a massive castle. We should be regularly getting lost down corridors it takes a few seconds to move from wall to wall, huge chambers filled to the brim with miscellaneous items, storage, old magical crafts and stories. You should be able to wander awhile and find useless rooms you can vaguely interpret it's use in an authentic school castle. There's so much mystery to Hogwarts because of its sheer size and myriad of secrets and they need to capitalize on that

I hope the devs that wasted my time with the slop that was 1 never get to make a game ever again in their lives. I spent four (FOUR) hours rushing through the beginning free game to get to some decent gameplay, fucking four (FOUR) hours and all I got was two (TWO) fight scenes and one was from the tutorial. Also the castle looked bland as fuck, there’s nothing to do but hunt for bland collectibles, and the game was littered to the brim with ethnics in the god damn 1800s. Hunting for collectibles is not content. You want to make an open world game, you have a main quest, you have multiple side quests, and you have one (ONE) fucking collectible to hunt for. The bulk of the content should not be collecting shit. Also I completely failed on the Harry Potter student life fantasy. None of NPCs interact with you outside of the man cast, you don’t get sorted into a house by Randy or get given a wand randomly, you don’t start as a first year, you get glazed by everyone you come across, and the classes suck. Also I picked Slytherin specifically to be a cunt, and my character was the nicest dude that ever lived. What the fuck? Even when I picked the arsehole option he would say nice things.

I think the most soulless decision was to turn the Room of Requirement into your standard RPG protagonist base where you do crafting and shit. It just felt too overtly video gamey in the worst way. The room should have just been an easter egg if you do the steps to make it appear. Brewing potions and upgrading gear should have been done at appropriate parts of the castle.
