Official manga spin-off "Chou Kaguya Meshi!" released its first chapter in magazine Bibibi. It takes place after the movie epilogue (but before the Ray MV?). I haven't been able to keep up with these threads the last few months. Are any of the figure preorders dropping soon? I don't want to miss out on anything if I can help it. I've already missed an absolute ton of doujinshi that went out of stock because I wasn't diligent enough and I don't want to feel that pain again.

I have been reading the Guidebook again and here is something really important that I noticed before. It's something that Nagae, the designer of the real world designs in the movie said. In regards to scens he wants people to pay attention to on a rewatch: >Another point would be the scenes that show Kaguya's cunning side. For example, the moment where she sweet-talks Iroha into playing the keyboard for her. The scene is the first time where Kaguya makes a face that seems to say "Oh~ So this is the kind of thing that makes you blush, huh? Hehe~" That scene always stood out to me so much. One thing a lot of people seem to get wrong on a shallow first impression is that Kaguya is an "airhead" or just totally straightforward in her actions. But Kaguya is actually SUPER cunning.Aside from her emotional manipulation with her crocodile tears which she did from day 1, there is indeed the keyboard scene. She noticed that performing music makes Iroha happy and immediately leverages that. She asks to perform endlessly, because she wants to always see Iroha that happy. In the first place she saw Iroha's keyboard and obviously concluded Iroha likes music. So I am almost certain she intentionally went for doing music to involve Iroha in her Vtuber career.There are many more moments like this. During the Kassen match she completely outplays Mikado in the second round and immediately psycho-analyses the guy she has barely interacted with before the match. Even mocks him for thinking she is an airheaded bimbo right there. Of course this goes along with her tactical acumen, coming up with strategies on the fly.

Having listened to some parts of the BD commentary, I would have to say I'm slightly disappointed with the way they handle some stuff. This has nothing to do with the yuri, it's more about the overall lore and character bg. I think they chickened out and chose the safe way out to please the maximum amount of people.
