Chris Columbus needs to hang for denying us Peeves kino. How you cast the perfect choice then cut all his scenes and send the character to the shadow realm for an entire adaptation?

there's a very real possibility he would have overshadowed the entire production, in a movie where you're banking on everyone having their time to shine in order to develop audience's feeling for characters they'll be watching for 9 more movies or whatever it was
i've never watched them but i get the impression that while they are fantastical they're also kinda muted in a sense. having a complete nutter like rik being unleashed destroys a careful balance.
