Star Wars was more of a fantasy novel come to life, it's more about heroes and villains and shouldn't have gone on for this long. The prequels were good for their time since it was mostly to showcase special effects, like the original. The sequels have no reason to exist because there's nothing in them new or interesting except how to crash a franchise with no survivors.Whereas Star Wars are fantasy novels, Star Trek is sci-fi short stories. Unless you have a hundred of those short stories at the ready, there is no reason to make another show. Especially not with any of those talentless hacks at Paramount.
