Yes you read that right, trees in Greenland. The Qinngua Valley has the only natural forest in Greenland. It is about 15 kilometers long. It is protected from the cold glacier winds by the mountains surrounding it. It is believed that other forests of this type once existed in Greenland but were cleared by early settlers for firewood or building material.
It's one of the most remote and untouched locations on earth and it would be extremely difficult to travel there but I still thought it was cool.

Bretty neat. Viking explorers described Iceland as being covered in birch forest, i imagine that's what it must have looked like.
If you fly from London to Boston you always fly over the east coast Greenlandic fjords, so I've traveled there many times in my mind.
