Covid was the best time to travel. I went to loads of places. It was funny how antivaxxies were filtered and crying because "nobody can travel." It was easy and I got to enjoy entire places to myself because of cowardly fags.

The best legacy of covid is remote work. Although my employer is iffy about it, I still can WFH 50% of the time. Would be nice to be able to work from a beach in Thailand but can't have everything.

I was full time travel and covid ruined my life, genuinely.Borders all closed with no warning, flights cancelled with no refunds, whole tourism industry shut down and no employer was good for their bills, local infection tried to quarantine you for weeks for crossing a border, even if you'd only travelled 5kms, couldn't work, couldn't access any services in county, couldn't return home, no consular support. Fucked up my life.Denied boarding then immediately arrested for visa violation, home country had no repatriation flights, holding owed them 25kUS for repatriation that couldn't occur, because of an overstay they caused, to cover quarantine in a country which denied me entry.

My first passport stamp was from December 2020, after Colombia lifted one of the world's strictest lockdowns. Masks and temp checks were mandatory everywhere, but I left my nose uncovered and carried a water bottle with a nipple everywhere so I could always have an excuse for having my mask pulled down. Hostels were mostly empty and lodging was dirt cheap. I met a guy who was basically imprisoned in a hostel in Santa Marta for six plus months. He had like one hour a day when he was permitted to exercise on the beach. The owner cooked meals for everybody, no restaurants were open. Strangely, he said he loved it. They gave him extensions of stay to ensure he stayed legal.

As a fellow responsible /trv/ler myself, I thoroughly enjoyed our lockdown! I readily took my vaccines, wore my mask at all times and stayed responsible throughout the pandemic. I remember boarding a plane or getting in a hostel and when a fellow /trv/ller violated the 6 feet of distance rule, I would rightfully point it out, and they would leap out of the distance. We both had a wonderful jest! My favourite part of the lockdowns is that now, knowing I am a friendless incel virgin, I was no longer an object of ridicule or scorn, but in fact a public hero! Anyways, I enjoyed my /trv/ing of sitting inside all day under forced government quarantine, going to closed shops and never talking to anybody.
