>Take high speed rail from Chongqing to Hong Kong, spend 5 night there. Fly out of Hong Kong to my home country
Any China anons want to tell me if this trip is feasible? I am seriously considering this for my 2027 international trip.

In my humble opinion, if you want to visit China it's better to pick one contiguous region and stick to it. Instead of faffing around with flights, why not just pick one of the three places and stay there, moving around with trains and buses? A single province of China alone has more to offer to a foreign tourist than many countries. For example, you could take Chongqing as a base and use it to visit Sichuan and one of the bordering provinces, like Guizhou or Hunan. There's more than enough there to fill a 12 days trip, it will be less expensive, and you won't spend half of your time in China in planes or airports or trains to the airport.

Not to mention people are "slightly" more civil.
