I just came back to BKK after a week-long vacation in Malaysia. Malaysia is cleaner, well-organized, surprisingly diverse and the price of food/activities are comparable to Thailand. I still prefer Thailand much more. I guess it's because of the people or maybe I prefer the organized chaos. Chinese people (or maybe Chinese Malays?) are mostly rude as fuck. It was also annoying have to deal with funky business hours in Langkawi due to Ramadan. I appreciated the fusion of Malay/Chinese/Indian fusion food but Thai food tastes better for me overall. Overall, I can see Malaysia becoming a major expat destination in the future if it's not that already.
