>go to washington DC for a weekend
>decide to stay in a hostel because /trv/ told me I could fuck girls and meet interesting people
>the common areas just had zoomers on their phones not talking
>night 1: sleeping in a dorm with 4 smelly edgyptians
>night 2: sleeping in a dorm with a frenchman (also smelly) who snored unbelievably loud
Am I missing something here or are you all just a bunch of poorfags who use "le hostel to le meet people" as an excuse for your poorfaggotry?

The chances of this are about as good as whatever game you have at bars picking up one nighters. Hostels can be slightly easier depending but 9 times out of 10 those "hostel fucks SOOO HOT!11" are 5/10 looking wormen at best with daddy issues drunk as shit.
You might up your chances with a private room but that's about it.

You need to realize 90% of this board is severely introverted, we are talking to the point of "I had a crazy night out with the lads!" when all that happened was someone next to them decided to talk with them at the bar. Most people here "travel" to a place, spend +80% of the day in their accommodations, and go do one or two things during lunch and supper(maybe getting a 'massage') as their going out and seeing the world.

Hostels changed heavily after COVID, the vibe is still mostly there but a lot of the nonchalant atmosphere is gone.Hostels now are

>Those Ukraine/Russian people who do nothing but sit around and drink while playing videogames 24/7

>Clearly on daddy's dime girls who think any hostel = party time BAAAABY!! only to realize 80% are there to shit, shower, and shave followed up by crashing out after a drunken night out.

>Old people who clearly lost their investments during COVID by pulling out too early and still want to see the world by any means necessaryHonestly, if you are looking at the value of hostels simply being in a good locations, place to shit/shower/shave, and potentially a option during crunch seasons like xmas and such. first, hostels are for under-30s, not xillennials are whatever variety of oldfag you are
second, hostels in north America suck because no one respectable travels to visit cities in north america for fun, going to a hostel in DC is absolutely retarded.
third, hostels are always hit and miss + vary dramatically. 50% chance of getting hot women who need to "find themselves", 50% of snorers and subpar experience.finally, hostels are a White thing to do. if you are brown or a nigger please don't you ruin the experience for everyone involved.

I had a similar experience in Berlin.
There were tons of normies hanging in the commons and outside, it was impossible to talk to any of them because they were already in their own groups. Also I'm just too ugly to pick up chicks. I was at the bar and asked for a drink, and the bartender completely ignored me. There were 2 girls sitting there who just looked at me awkwardly. It was humiliating. Only positive was I did end up making one friend, another incel, and we hung out in the city once, but no chicks.Bottom line, don't go to hostels if you're ugly. They're for beautiful people and normies only

people who don't like hostels are either too old to feel like they fit in there, or are young enough but are too socially awkward
all you need to do to fit in in a hostel is go to the bar and get a drink
there will be other people there and you can talk to them, most of the time you'll end up playing a drinking game or going out to other bars together, and sometimes you'll sleep with someone
