I've caught numerous weird skin infections in thailand, and yes one was obviously from some sort of tainted/toxic massage oil.I bring my own fresh coconut oil for them to rub me down with now, one as a 'spray' applicator, and one with a pump. These places dont clean the bottles and sometimes the oil is old or weird.Sounds like mental illness or scamming. Just kick them out and send them home with 1000 thb quick next time.
