I am an American and am about to enter a field which highly relies on security clearances. However, I met a girl on-line who lives in Iran and I really like to visit her in the foreseeable future, so I can meet her family and see if they approve of me. I do have a few questions, though.
Would I be welcome there as an American? Will police (or the IRGC) bother me? Would I get detained or interrogated upon my return to America? Would doing this void my security clearance? What if I made this trip multiple times?

from what I know anecdotally, having a contact in a country like Iran (much less visiting her) will fuck up your security clearance
I wouldn't disclose your relationship with her, maybe meet in a third country (UAE, Qatar, Turkey, etc) if you REALLY need to see her
travelers with American passports are unable to travel independently in Iran, so it's doubtful how much quality time you'd have

I presume this is a LARP:Assuming you have a 'clearance', you are manditorially required to disclose your international travel plans to your security folks. 99% of the time, they'll tell you have a great time. But if go to hostile nation-state like the PRC, Iran, Russia, etc., w/o telling security, and they find out, congratulations, you'll lose clearance, your job, and have a very difficult time explaining how you fell for a Persian princess with a couple of FBI agents. You should have lawyer on retainer for that matter as you can expect to drop about $25,000 to get you off for the criminal charges you stupidly brought upon yourself. You'll end up appearing before a Federal Magistrate with appearing deal allowing for probation and as an added bonus turning in your passport for 5 years.Also, your Persian princess will be banned from entering the country.You'll never work at any facility involving government work ever again (that applies to Federal, State, and Local). That also means your aerospace career is over because you'll be required to disclose any criminal malfeasance when applying for a job. Of course, you could lie about that, too....Do yourself a favor and grow the fuck up.

Ive had a TS SCI for the last 8 year.You cannot go to Iran if you want a clearance. No ifs and or buts about it. I couldnt even go to Canada without a moutain of paperwork. (Technically you can go to canada specifically without prior notice and can do the paperwork when you get back). You cannot ever mention you met some middle eastern girl online and traveled to meet her. I knew someone who lost their clearance for marrying a saudi girl. Also retarded time to go to Iran, as Israel might demand zion don to bomb iran at any moment again. Not to mention kikes regularly assassinate targets in iran with no regard to collateral damage.Now add on top the fact there is a small yet very realistic chance the irgc tosses you in prison just for having an american passport

They've tightened the screws for travelers considerably in Iran this year. All foreigners now, not just Americans, have to be escorted to be a government guide and follow a strict itinerary.
