The very first commander deck I bought was Edgar Markov and I still use him somewhat regularly. People are still scared of him even though he's long since been surpassed in speed and power by new precon commanders that can shit out 30 +1/+1 counters per turn on themselves. Though I don't know if it would count since it's been so upgraded that only a handful of cards from the precon remain. Ditto Kaalia and Ranar the Everwatchful. The only precon I regularly play with that's still mostly intact as a precon is the Necron deck from the 40k crossover. It has a few upgrades but is 90% original and still hold its own in high B3 games. B4 is a bit iffy for it.

The first two precons I bought were the GB from strixhaven (2021) and the GB from bloomburrow, I put them together (with Chatterfang as the commander) and added only one or two cards from outsider either (warren soul trader) and it became too strong I had to switch to other decks

this looks like a potentially interesting build but i cant understand why so many decs are running spells like 'you and an opponent draw X cards' i get that the idea is they pay for it, and then you draw cards, but the more cards they have of their own, the less likely they're going to want to leave mana up to cast yours?

TQ I got back into MTG and bought the Tidus FFX (white blue green one) deck and used the cards to make 3 different decks. the green +1/+1 counters creatures and spells make up a lot of my Toski mono green Voltron deck and it just took out an UR dragon player. so its pretty goodSome of the white cards are in another deck. I don't use all the blue cards like LuLu yet but theres a lot of great stuff in there.I was considering buying another one and upgrading the lands, adding wrath of god, Swords to Plowshares, some other counter spells and so on and just having it on hand for when people play pre-cons. but even as is its pretty damn strong so its probably not the best pick for "pre-con slot" in the deck bag. plus farewell in the deck is considered a "game changer"

I strictly play precons, or maybe some old decks that were built before the bracket-system. I think the cardpool available in EDH is completely busted, and that WOTC has done a lousy job of curating the experience. I don't want to play combo, I want to play battlecruiser. I refuse to engage with deckbuilding because I think EDH is a shit game, I only play it because it is my social outlet. The concept of a "pre-game talk" about your deck is so awful to me that I only play precons as a shortcut. Mentally I view sitting down to play EDH the same as sitting down to play the boardgame Monopoly. Some shit happens, it doesn't really matter, and then someone wins out of nowhere.

Used to play Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments back in the day but that was old school rules and stuff. Somehow it is incredibly common in Commander. I would say in at least every other game, some player proclaims that after another player wins. Why is this? Why is the first thing they do to declare they had a win on board or in hand? Do people not introspect and reflect on what they could have done to clinch the win earlier or prevent their loss? Is it a side effect of Commander being a casual format, thus attracting a majority of players incapable of reflection on that level?

If you're not ready for cheaters at any Magic event then you're not ready win. You need to spot their cheats, the shifty shuffles, cards dropped, game changing cards hidden behind lands, the 'accidental' scries. Call them out, shuffle the decks when they offer to cut, pay attention to board states. Or just cheat yourself.

I heard a discussion about the whole "bracket 3 means you can't win until turn-7" topic that really bugged me. Someone was saying that in bracket-3 since you can't lose until turn-7, a card like Pact Of Negation wouldn't cause you to lose the game in the early turns, so you can just use it as a free-card.I disagree with that premise, and I think it is cringe and retarded. Why are commander players so inclined to be pubstomping cornershooting contrarian assholes?I think I need to stay in bracket-2, because everything above just seems too retarded.

There's a player at my LGS on Fridays who was extremely obnoxious yet people consistently play with them. he has a couple decks only and inside those decks he has the most premium version of cards things like Chrome mox, foil mox diamond, expedition mana vault, ect. Everygame everyone has 5 spend all the resources dealing with him or they lose. he puts together a new deck using basically the same skeleton every couple of months. Right now it's Naya cloud. I used to be against proxying but now I just want a proxy a deck so I can stomp this guy consistently. what should I build? on another note, he didn't understand how priority worked or how summoning sickness worked. Lats game he put a farewell, then at the t-pro and finally a k grip on the stack one turn and was a surprise that didn't make him immune to being counter spelled or interacted with. like he thought grip gave the entire stack split second
