Honestly the funniest idea I heard to fix the meta was tennis rules, make it so you need to win two games in a row to actually win a match. So every deck has to be able to play going first and second. In the immediate term nobody is going to win a match of YGO because everyone will time out but historically YGO's playerbase has always been able to adapt to time rules, even the ones the entire community thought were retarded and wouldn't work, so it would be interesting to see.

I've been wanting to build a pendulum deck for years, but always felt discouraged to do so because everyone at locals hates them and thus would refuse to read my cards, but the latest legend decks has odd-eyes cards in it, so is this a good entry point or am i wasting my time? I do realize MAMO got a few new cards so i'd be getting 3 of each plus a structure.

There's so much negativity in YGO, it's actually pushing me out of the hobby. I like yu-gi-oh for coming up with cool combos and synergy with deck combination but it's been DOOOOMposting or NOSTALGIAposting fucking everywhere. Even on specific deck discussion areas, it's just tmostly bitching about the meta. Can't really find a comfy area to just talk about the elements of yu-gi-oh I love without someone sperging. I try posting a combo video and then people will either bitch about how unoptimal it is - which okay fine but usually I'm either showing table 500 stupid shit which yeah no shit or this is why I quit yu-gi-oh and yu-gi-oh is dead to me. Fuck man, where can I just find likeminded people who accept the game for what it is rather than bitching about what it isn't?

Do you think it's bad that this game is tied to the anime? I asked some time back how many here would know the game had the anime not existed and most said they only know about it through that. I personally don't think that it's something to be ashamed of, but whenever you see people talking about it, they word it as though that it's something to "admit to". Also, everytime Konami releases something nostalgia related, people scoff at it.

One thing I noticed is why do yugioh players have a tendency to jump on if a card is good or not instead of waiting and breathing and seeing how it goes. They always have a knee jerk reaction the second it releases.

Unsure where to post this, so here goes:I don't play yugioh past 2008, pre synchros, as that's when I felt it peaked, yet even then, I hated the walls of text each card had. Going as far back as toons. Instead, I love reading the flavor texts of normal Monsters just to enjoy a bit of lore behind the card. It was always a quick sentence or too that mostly meant nothing, but it was a fun gimmick.That said, I opened pandoras box where you can proxy any card you want, and pretty much turn every effect Monster into a normal one. Flavor text would be loosely based off of the old games that had it, like Sacred cards and reshef. So now the question becomes: where do I draw the line? Do I proxy all of them as normal Monsters with just flavor text? Do I use the anime Orica cards that are just pictures and stats? Does it even feel right using proxies like this, since I'm basically getting rid of a card's identity by removing its effects? Just cause I could, does it mean I should?
