Anonymous09/05/26, 03:37No.98624679Bolter Action - A Bolt Action x Warhammer40k Conversion Proyect
Me and my friend have been working for quite a while making a set of conversion rules to allow players acquainted with Bolt Action and Konflikt47 to play with their 40k models and units.
We made this because, to us, Warhammer40k has never really fit the way we like to play, it lacks customization and strategic depth in our opinion, so, we decided to take it upon ourselves to make something fun.
Initially this was meant to be a personal think only used by us both, but we thought people could enjoy the system and maybe would want to try it out, so here I am to share it with you.
As of now, only the Orks as a faction are fully finished but still require some testing. Imperial guard will be next and should be finished soon.

Nice Anon, I've been working on a solo campaign and was debating making a similar ruleset. Excited to see if you end up making the guard codex.

Looks promising. I think Bolter Action is pretty old. So if this is an "update" you're gonna have a lot of working making stats for the newer released models in the 40k line.
The space marine codex is gonna be a big one for obvious reasons.
Guard might be a close second biggest because ForgeWorld went crazy using leman russ and chimera chassis for different tanks.
I wish you all the best and good luck on this.

Here is a list of the upcoming faction releases after the guard codex is done:1.- Adeptus Mechanicus
2.- Space Marines
2.- Tyrannids
3.- Necrons
4.- Chaos Space MarinesThe order of release relates to how experienced me and my friend are with each faction. When and if all the above are finished, more will be released.Optional or debatable if they should be a faction:Knights (Both Chaos and Imperium)
Adeptus Custodes
Imperial AgentsThese two faction's units will most likely be available as ultra-elite options or mercenaries in other relevant factions. Even then Imperial Agents are unlikely to show up at all save for assassins due to the nature of the system already allowing most of their units to be made.

Almost forgot to post this as well. Here is a quick and dirty Excel sheet to manage and distribute points in case anyone want to make and test out an army with this system:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15I3CKg99ANQlk33gt25lcL93LI2lhD24fEfVHQPQDPI/edit?gid=0#gid=0Make a copy, please do not request access.

That would be great; Bolt action is sorta 40k-esque, alot of BA players in my area are former 40k players who made the switch.

This would be really interesting if you actually tried.
Simply writing, "Same as Bolt Action" or "Same as Konflikt 47" does not a good main rules document make. Further, you don't mention which edition of the aforementioned games your using, so different players will have different rules.
Try a bit harder anon, this sounds like a great potential project.

Nice was just having similar thoughts of a bolt action verison of 40k.

Oh also I should specify. The current version of Bolter Action is already considered to be in a fully playable state. If anyone would like to try it out and tell us what they think, you can play with either the Guard or the Orks and make your own army just how you want it.

VERSION 0.0.5 OF BOLTER ACTION HAS BEEN RELEASED.List of changes:-Added immense amount of rules information in the core rulebook, needing less referencing from Bolt Action rules manuals.
-Extensive rebalancing changes to weapons, units, rules and keywords
-Updated the Bolter Action Army List Template (I learned how to use excel)
-Added references sheets to the base Bolt Action rules to the very beginning of the document.
-Justified the text and updated the tabs. This was a rather large change to both many of the rules and the document formatting, the latter of which should allow for ease of reading and a more streamlined learning process. This is turning more and more into its own thing as me and my friend work on it.We are still balancing things out, primarily with how weapons work (especially the grenades and flamers), but so far it seems to be a very fruitful endeavor. We made a test game last time with these changes and, allowing myself to be biased for a moment here, I have to say it's incredibly fun to play so far. Also, as a sneak-peak for what's to come, here's some brainstorming for one of the next two upcoming factions: Adeptus Mechanicus.Stay tuned for more, and thank you for the feedback so far!

Me and my friend also wanted to hear if you guys had any ideas on how we should handle flamers. We believe we came up with something balanced and fun, but we're not sure we've quite hit the nail with it yet.If you think you have any good ideas, please, share them with us, they really do help.

this has been attempted by many people (including myself, see my tyranid draft below) since Bolt Action first came out years ago.
nevertheless It's nice to see other people having the same idea.
Have a look at Beyond the Gates of Antares (version 2 rules are free) for ideas, that game has a lot of little fun mechanics such as specialized artillery munitions that do different effects
