I had another game of Steel Rift yesterday, a larger 200 ton (point) match. I tabled my opponent on turn 4 but the way that scoring works is I actually lost the game because of it since I hadn't made up the difference in points which is a pretty funny way to lose a King of the Hill match. I think someone said last time I posted that the game sounds a lot like armored core which I think is a pretty good way of describing it. Without real phases and skipping the to-hit roll the game goes really fast but there's a lot of stuff going on that makes it deceptively complex.

Quar armour duel; Chyweethl versus Krassyl.It turned into a slugfest, even though the Krassyl blew a gasket by gunning it's engine too hard on turn one, it could have gone either way but for a lucky deflection onto the Chyweethl's track, but the Coftyran machine won out, due to it's essentially superior armour and qualities in a head-on confrontation. The Chyweethl failed in this instance to leverage it's superior movement, and was first immobilized, by the advancing Chyweethl, which rounded the treeline and wall, the advanced, destroying what was left of it's self-sabotaged motive systems, then cored out the hull at close range.Took a while to get round to actually using the full-scale armour rules. The manually reloaded cannon on the Chyweethl has a greater opportunity when you have more units to activate than just the tank, due to the game's action economy.

Moonstone looks really fun as someone who likes to paint but I cant decide where to start. >Commonwealth nobles look baller as fuck >The shades look like really fun baddies but I'd have to buy extra boxes of psychopumps and shit to get it going >The fauns are get a dude on a moose and a big dumb rabbit >Dominion has a few evil pirates and nobles I like (I am a sucker for women in baroque clothing) but its like 2 and they have little synergy with each other and I am not super interested in goblins or fairies I could go in a lot of differant ways. Also pissed that the evil nobles like Duchess can't be in shades since they represent the old court of the forgotten king

IS there a warmachine/Warcaster generic ruleset or equivalent out there? Good for a few units, monsters and some magic/whatever, but without having to use Name Warcasters and such, I like to grown my captain/Mage in Frostgrave style more than having an obligatory character.

Working on a Bestiary for Frostgrave. Based on the Lich Lord one, but adapted to the minis I have on hand or can get easily. Stuff marked with (C) is in the core rulebook, and stuff with a (T) is from TotLL. The Lightkeeper is gonna be a custom entry for this freaky ghost mini with a bunch of lanterns I got in a trade a while back.

Got whooped in Carnevale today. The burning saint just doesn't seem to have a lot of HP. Also the executioners half their HP procced, when it would have just outright killed the target, knew it would happen. We just did a big deathbrawl with me deploying further up to try to get better positioning for the knights explosion. Had a blast either way, always do. Gods it's just a pain trying to remember rules between like 6 different games.

Hows this for baby's first moonstone list?Dutchess and Creep for energy sapping and general support. Really I just want duchess because her model a cuteSome troll or giant, I'm thinking ribald or maybe gotchgut. The idea is to have dutchess giving it loads of energy to smash shit. The cannon troll might be the best choice as this list lacks any other rangeThe Cursed box cast as melee brusiers. Creep can make sure anya has energy to go ghost mode, and beast and revenent are just there to hurt people

There we go, mirrored the markings on the opposite side (except the little double dots, I forget what they indicate), muddied the tracks and added a crate of wine on the side, wedged in place between two sandbags and a pair of boots. Might lash it down with a tiny rope made out of a piece of cotton, as my little brother seems to think they would fall off and smash.I've got enough Quar vehicles to run a demolition derby now. It would be about as skill based as snakes and ladders using standard vehicle rules, but gunning it around a track whilst also trying to blow up opponents ahead of you could work as a novel scenario.Tank rules go as such; when you are activating a "crew activated vehicle" you declare it at turn start, and lock yourself into spending your first three actions in order; driver, gunner, then commander. If you have remaining activations these can be distributed among the crew, provided they have not already been activated twice each; the commander can activate another crew member, or spot, so a turn might go, Move tractor, spot target in front arc with gunner, officer orders gunner to fire, then I ask my opponent if I have another activation; lets say I do, so I choose to roll to have my driver gun the engine in an attempt to get out of my opponent's firing arc and spoil their chance to return fire without adjusting.

Played a game of Hordes of Things today set in the old WHFB world, Empire vs Greenskins. Ofter the Goblin leadership broke down and the Shaman was unable to overcome the protection of the Light Wizard the Empire managed to roll the Green army up at the cost of only two bases of Knights

Played Frostgrave tonight, three people turned up. We did a basic fight over treasure rather than a specific scenario because we were learning the rules. Highlights>the Summoner at one point saw two of his soldiers get ambushed by a Wraith Knight and decided to blast all three of them with a fireball, not caring if he killed his own men (classic wizard) and then miraculously one-shotted the wraith knight while leaving his men unscathed >my wizard used the Wall spell to make a bridge rather than a wall, which worked. She also suffered a crushed arm, sadly, and my apothecary was permanently killed, all for 20 gold and a grimoireGame was fun
