Thanks anon! I’ll ask around for hopefully opinions backed by experience on the anycubic and sunlu water washable resin. I’m seriously hoping water washable resins are actually great and robust enough for wargaming use on the table. It feels harder to get reliable opinions to make a decision on so many subjects 3d printing included.I think there’s a terrible feedback loop of ai answers based on user experience of dubious reliability being parroted by others which the ai answers feed off of oddly enough.

What causes bottom layer separations on just one part of the build plate? The STLs have printed successfully on this machine before with the resin currently in the vat, and the settings are the same ones that I've been using for 2 years. I've changed the FEP twice, leveled each time, and verified that the build plate is flat. Reposting from last thread because the usual helpful experts lost interest once I confused them by posting my settings and realized that Google AI's answer to this wasn't accurate. Maybe we'll get some fresh eyes this time. I've been printing with resin for a number of years now and I'm completely stumped by this.

I bought some custom 3D prints, shop was well rated, but when it arrived the figures were ridiculously sticky. Like stuck to the packaging. Not my first purchase and this is the first time they've been like pre-hot glued. Seller told me to leave the shit in the sun for a bit. Fucking hell.Fuck, I wish I could get my own printing setup.

Hey, /3dpg/. I have some TPS STLs. How do I ensure that the ball joint sponsons point perfectly forward instead of repositioned? Only sponsons I know that go well with the plastic kit they are built for.As for the Dorn tank conversion kit for the Malc tank. How easy or hard would it be to repurpose those parts for a Macharius Tank STL remake like the one by Solutionlesn to have that be the Dorn tank proxy?

Why not print flat on the bed? When Im printing terrain pieces with a flat base, I want to print it flat, it really wasteful to angle and print 30 million supports. Plus I need to raise it high or have to grind the entire base anyway. I've printed smaller pieces flat on the plate, but everywhere i read its the worse thing ever

With downsides and advantages considered is it better to store STLs on a portable ssd or a portable hdd? I have both. I’m not sure about data recovery reliability on an ssd but maybe things have improved.

What would be the best way to go to start a Krieg collection? Better to print them (saw a few of them on the usual websites) or just buy the FW recasts from the usual sources? I'd like to keep them as close as possible to the FW original, not the current GW ones, and some 3d models I found are expanding on that range.

I have the opportunity to buy a new Phrozen Sonic Mighty 12k for $300cad ($215) USD. I know it's an older printer but apparently its well reviewed and the I heard the limit to detail isn't even the screens at this point. Good buy? I know nothing beyond 3D printing besides the very basics. I'll obviously also need to buy a wash+cure station and some peripherals, but the dollar cost is still looking REALLY good compared to buying just 600pts of the army I want to play.

I remember the tripoAI discussion we had a while back. Is it possible to drop a human soldier shaped STL and have it "posed" back into a T-pose or A-pose with the weapon removed? Rigged too? I'd say print them. It's much cheaper. As long as they come out correctly you're saving money. At least where I am. I went to my local store. And 5 bases cost me 10€. If I print them myself I spend way less

I'm thinking of getting a good resin printer on black friday, but I don't have much space in my home. My aunt lives across the street though, and has a garage she only uses to park her car. Would a resin printer perform good in an old Florida garage without AC? Would the odors fuck her up when she's going to get in her car? I'm also assuming that a resin printer would be OK just loading files off USB and not need actual network connection

I found out that some of AnvilIndustry's STL packs include pauldrons for 28mm scale human miniatures. I want to recreate the previous Cadian shoulderpads and hopefully the current Cadian shoulderpads using the curvature of the Anvil shoulderpads. Is there any particular way to do so while "preserving" the curvature of the shoulderpads? Does Blender or meshmixer have tools to recreate an existing 3D model's concave/convex shapes as a blank slate to remake? If that makes sense?I'm not sure how to measure the concave and convex aspects of a real life bit so I'm not sure how likely I'll be able to do this in real life. English is my first language so I'm not ESL. Just sleep deprived and no coffee. Sorry if none of what I said makes sense.
