Still working on that templars list, are land raiders really that bad in 4th? They are quite expensive, but also damn they're really cool. Same goes for dreadnoughts. Right now the two lists I'm looking at are basically either rhino+crusader spam with 2 vindicators and a predator or a list with the land raider and dreadnought but less infantry. Also took the advice from last time and got rid of my leader upgrades, they were taking up so many points.

Got a 3rd ed Combat Patrol day this weekend at the local joint. Taking the ol' Iron Snakes along and need to paint and build a couple things for it all. Last night I magnetised and started getting my jump pack commander painted, his assault squad also getting a bit of work. I should have them all done this afternoon. After that I need to knock out a razorback, which should be too hard, just tedious. I have some a papercraft kit that nicepy turns into templates for plasticard construction, if I don't dawdle too much I might even have it built AND base coated tonight for details tomorrow!

Managed to rope a new player to our 2nd ed group and we played again the Battle for the Armageddon tutorial scenario one. Such a fun game and he'll be back again for sure.

Hey anons. I'm pretty sure this is the right place to ask. I recently bought myself a copy of Rogue Trader, I'm having a blast reading through it and all its myriad descriptors and lore portions, but I'm having a hard time finding people to even start having a conversation about playing the game with, so I'm just going to go solo for now. But is there a generally agreed upon best way of building lists? I've been finding the process rather difficult, there's a lot to chew through. Is there maybe an army builder or something out there? Any help would be great.

Is there anywhere I can get metal recasts of the old WHFB dwarves? (Without going via r*ddit). Specifically Ironbreakers, Longbeards and the heroes. The prices on Ebay are nuts thanks to that one goldfish cunt, and the slavs/chinkies only do resin it seems.

So last week I had played in a 40k3rd edition combat patrol day. Real casual attitude event to get the 3rd ed guys in the region familiar with each other. I took my Iron Snakes, games were bumped to 600 points with the usual restrictions and I am happy to report I walked away with 2 wins and only a single loss, which for anyone familiar with my battles is well outside the norm! But the best part of it all, was I made some new gaming friends. Hopefully more games can be arranged and more little events can be had to make it all grow.I'll share a bunch of my photos of the day, sadly I was feeling a bit checked out by game three and didn't think to take any photos of it, which is a shame, because my opponent had a really beautifully painted Imperial Fists army.First photo of my first game against a world eaters warband. It was a blood bath of a battle but I was able to scrape out a win, kept the chaos lieutenant away from my marines by taking him on a merry chase with one of my landspeeder tornados. That wasn't the intention, I had wanted to gun him down but my rolls weren't too hot and his armour saves were too good.
