The release schedule for D&D 5.5E in 2026 in looking like:
>two Ravenloft books about horror
>Arcane magic splat
>Red Wizards adventure
>Surprise thing in September which might be Dark Sun 5.5E
>all niche splats and settings
This is really starting to feel like the edition end-days of TSR or 3.5E, when there wasn't that much left to print and the publisher had already decided to make a new edition.
So, D&D 6E in 2027?

I thought we already knew they were working on 6e, idk if it comes next year but they're making it now. 2024 wasn't favorably received, frankly I don't think they should have did it.

WotC went on record for account physical releases for most content in an investor meeting recently. If the release schedule slows down when they don't even need to print and ship stuff anymore, that's pretty damning.>New edition
Doubt they will do something like that until they figure out how to lock everything behind a micro transaction paywall of some sort.

Why would this matter?
Anyone who finds D&D lacking is told to rewrite what they don't like, and D&D is the world's greatest TTRPG because of the good things good DMs do for their good groups not written in the rules and has no responsibility for any of the bad things that similarly aren't written in the rules, so everyone should already have their ideal system in use.

Yeah, WotC releases almost nothing nowadays; that's a normal release schedule for 5e. 2022 was:

>A starter set
>Spelljammer
>Radiant Citadel (bunch of adventures)
>Call of the Netherdeep (CR adventure)
>Shadow of the Dragon Queen (Dragonlance adventure)

I'm happy the birthright setting is dead because now (unlike all other dnd settings) it won't get butchered by wotc
Plus none of the nudnd audience likes or cares about the setting
I remember going to some forum (enworld I think ) and they were talking about how birthright was "fascist" because it had themes of divine blood (even though that's monarchism not fascism but I doubt those troons know any better)
