I'm going to guess you painted it black, and then tried to put straight white on? Ofc that's going to look terrible, you need to progressively build up to it, pure white on black is a no go.Start with black, then do a not so dry brush (not too damp, but perhaps not as dry as normal) with a dark grey, then do a regular dry brush with a lighter grey, then you can finally do a really dry brush with white and possibly repeat that white again depending on the results and how you want it.
