I need to write a comprehensive paper as part of the admissions process for a full scholarship. I'm currently on stage 3 of 4 of said process, having successfully progressed through the previous two.
The problem I have is that quite a lot of the papers I need to access are behind paywalls. I've already checked SciHub/SciDB/SciNet and Machine Library, together they have maybe 40% coverage.
Where else can I look?

Sci-Hub is your best bet.

>decides to write a paper he can't get data for
A blunt anon would say they wouldn't accept someone to their uni who chooses a topic they can't get data on, and tell you to choose another topic. But I am not like that.

It's awful that science is still paywalled in 2026, it should all be freely available to everyone.

What papers do you need.

With Researchgate you can contact authors directly for a copy and they mostly will send you submission copy. But 120 papers is quite a number.

Go to a university library. Visitors generally get free on-site access to journal and databases.

Ask AI to summarise each missing paper individually.

Google scholar often has free preprint versions of papers. Search for it and choose "show all versions"
