I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as π, is in fact, R/π, or as I've recently taken to calling it, R plus π. π is not an number unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning R number system made useful by the properties of R, including continuity and denseness, comprising a full real number system as defined by Cauchy and others.
