All my 1 friends are from IRL but transferred to online-only since we don't live near each other anymore. Been like this for over a decade. I'm a NEET and my friend buys me games to play with him or we just chat for hours. He's going through a divorce right now. We're really close somehow even after all this time apart. I often wonder why he doesn't just replace me with someone IRL.

No, friends are for people who are positively reinforced as kids. Why would I go around trying to make friends when everyone I met growing up treated me like shit? Only lucky people get to have fun. Worst part is they turn around and tell you they worked for it, like they somehow mind controlled the other person to be their friend.

I was coincidentally childhood friends with chad because we were seated in alphabetical order in a classroom and he introduced me to everyone else I know. Pure luck.
