I interacted with a woman who works at a Japanese grocery store today, and I'm starting to think I'll never truly get to the point of 'fluency.' She's pretty fluent (she isn't Japanese), and is working in a grocery store where she is surrounded by and exposed to Japanese people every day. I, on the other hand, have been rejected from every Japan-related job I've applied to post-university and even jobs in Japan (such as English teaching) and haven't passed any JLPT exam since N4 in 2015. I just don't know, man...

How do you get rejected despite knowing japanese?
From what I've heard, not many foreigners applying for stuff like english teaching speak japanese.
Do you have a criminal record or like... something else deeply wrong with you (job hunting wise)?

Where do you live? Learn a language you're actually regularly exposed to first because learning more languages after that becomes easier.

I have a friend who reached N2 studying on his own for two years and is working in Japan right now. You failed hard at life, bro.
